Jazz in de Fwajee - Louise van den Heuvel

Louise van den Heuvel (The Hague, January 15, 1997) is a Dutch bassist, composer and teacher. She has collaborated with artists such as Zwangere Guy, Lander Gyselinck and Bruno Vansina. Since 2023, van den Heuvel has also been making neo-soul with the French/Brussels singer STACE. More recently, she has been working with Bex. With her former teacher and "mentor" Stéphane Galland, also known from Aka Moon, van den Heuvel also plays in the Rhythm Hunters, The Gallands, KANDA and Luxembourg/Brussels band Beluga. She also has her own ensembles Dishwasher_ and Sonic Hug, with which she released her first album in 2024 and also made her singing debut. For this concert she will form a one-off quartet with guitarist Eliott Kneuts, drummer Gert-Jan Dreessen and flutist Lúcia Pires.

Curator Gert-Jan Dreessen, drummer/composer and one of the great jazz talents of his generation, invites fellow musicians from Belgium and the Euregio to Sint-Truiden especially for this concert series. The Fwajee will be transformed into an intimate jazz club for the occasion and after the concert you can chat with the musicians with a local beer, wine or a non-alcoholic alternative in hand.
