Unfinished Business consists of five spirited musicians who made a pact in the corridors of the Antwerp Conservatory and have been making a remarkable difference in the sonorous landscape in and around the city ever since.
Their dynamic repertoire cannot be put under a single heading. Grafted on jazz with influences of rock, funk, fusion, and firmly rooted in hard bop (Donald Byrd, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan...), they bring a sound in which the echoes of the classics mingle with the 'newness' of their future music. The schematically structured 'grids' of their compositions offer room for improvisation that makes it possible to keep the mix of genres and stylistic influences fresh, crisp and alive. Tangible in one earshot: 'Their Business is Unfinished'!
The Band has already played at Gent Jazz, Brosella, Jazz Middelheim, Kaap, Rataplan, TAZ, Hnita Jazzclub etc.... Unfinished Business' debut album was released in early April 2025.
