Indie jazz duo Blue Sands, consisting of Reindert Kragt (NL) and singer Esther Van Hees (BE), proves that voice and bass can be an exciting and intimate combination. From Grunge to jazz to video game scores, Blue Sands takes inspiration regardless of genre and you can hear it in their set.
They released their debut EP “Flowers Made of Clay” in 2020 and their first album “No Longer Blue” in 2022. Their distinctive sound was described in reviews as cinematic, dreamy and quirky.
Armed with an arsenal of effects pedals, Blue Sands creates its own universe in which, in addition to the audience, other musicians are very welcome. They have already shared the stage with Mete Erker, Kika Sprangers, Ben van Gelder, Jef Neve, Jeroen van Vliet, Marta Arpini and Anton Goudsmit, among others.
On January 12, 2025 Blue Sands presented their new album 'For you' under label ZenneZ Records at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam. The record received 4 stars in the Volkskrant. On the record Miguel Boelens, Anton Goudsmit and Hermine Deurloo can be heard as guests.
