Named after Franz Kafka's favourite sister, Ottla was initially formed by guitarist Bert Dockx (Dans Dans, Flying Horseman) for a one-off series of Jazzlab gigs in 2019. What started as a fleeting experiment quickly grew into a full-fledged six-piece band, led to a debut album and numerous gigs.

Released in 2024, their second album “Vogel” became a vibrant and diverse exploration of jazz, improvisation, electro, noise, prog, afro, blues, groove, punk and krautrock. Ottla transformed into a quartet consisting of Bert Dockx, Thomas Jillings (sax, clarinet, synths), Gerben Brys (bass) and Louis Evrard (drums, percussion, synths, guitar) The result is an album full of exciting twists and turns: songs that will undoubtedly continue to transform live.
