Italian pianist and composer Antonio Faraò released his album Tributes in June on the Criss Cross label. “I’m proud to be part of Criss Cross,” said Faraò about his first collaboration with the label. Recorded at Studios de Meudon in Paris in July 2023, the Milan-born pianist, then 58, brought together a virtuosic trio featuring John Patitucci on bass and Jeff Ballard on drums. He presented them with eight original compositions and two standards, then let them run free. Each musician reaches a creative peak in this lyrical, kinetic, and beautifully balanced 65-minute recital.
