The legendary Brazilian trio Azymuth, pioneers of jazz-funk fused with samba—a unique style they coined samba doido—returns to Europe in 2025 with their new album Arabutã. With 50 years of career, over thirty albums, and iconic collaborations (Jorge Ben, Milton Nascimento, Elis Regina…), the spirit of Azymuth lives on through founding member Alex Malheiros, joined by Kiko Continentino and Renato Massa. Arabutã, named after the endangered tree that gave Brazil its name, blends timeless groove with ecological awareness, reaffirming Azymuth’s enduring influence on Brazilian music while leaving a lasting mark on global jazz, funk, and electronic scenes.
