In just two years, the Matthias Van den Brande Trio has carved out a place for itself on the European jazz map. With several major awards under their belts (B-Jazz International Contest & Tremplin Jazz 'Concours Européen' Avignon), they released their debut album 'Three Sides of a Coin' in 2023, which was enthusiastically received in Belgium, France, Spain and the Netherlands during an international tour in 2023.

While managing a formation without piano or guitar in a uniquely modern way, the music remains accessible to the audience thanks to strong interaction and melodic compositions rooted in the jazz tradition.

Their new show 'Fields of Colour' is inspired by the fabulous paintings of Mark Rothko, the great master of 20th-century abstract expressionism.

The fantastic trumpeter Jean-Paul Estiévenart joins the trio especially for this new project.
