Every TaxiWars fan knows this moment, somewhere in the middle of the evening: Tom Barman discreetly moves to one side of the stage. Then Robin Verheyen, on soprano saxophone, unfurls his composition 'Roscopaje', allowing him to freewheel with bassist Nic Thys and drummer Antoine Pierre.
The Verheyen-Thys-Pierre trio met up again at Zabonprés in the Ardennes for a one-off evening out. "Roscopaje' was on the programme, along with other compositions by Robin Verheyen, and forays into the repertoire of Thelonious Monk... in particular.
This magical evening could not go unnoticed. The idea of immortalising it on record was an obvious one, and it's this record that the trio will be previewing at the festival in the Salle Regina.
