Daniel Garcia Trio

Daniel Garcia Trio

The Madrid pianist Daniel Garcia has a profound sense of the history that gave birth to him. This is due in part to the fact that he was born and raised in Salamanca, a city steeped in history, which has several important archaeological sites. The pianist’s awareness of the different cultures that formed Spain is omnipresent in this album: the artists invited on the album represent musical legacies from different cardinal points. Garcia is a passionate defender of Salamanca’s musical heritage. It’s been ten years since Daniel Garcia won awards when he was a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and received the teaching and mentorship of Danilo Pérez. Garcia remembers the great Panamanian pianist who encouraged him to deepen the music of his home country: "You have to make the music you feel inside. It’s not just what you do, it’s YOU! It’s as if this advice had never disappeared... In "Vía de la Plata", his latest album on ACT CD, Daniel Garcia did not just tap into his heritage as a man and musician and draw truths from it. He also found a way to express his emotions in a profound, convincing and complete way in this beautiful album…
