Kamaal Williams aka Henry Wu returns with his third solo album on Black Focus. The London-based polymathic virtuoso achieves a multidisciplinary tour de force, crossing the worlds of jazz, classical music, electronica, art and design. An integral part of the vibrant South London scene, he has a special place among jazzmen, rappers and DJs for his style and groove. His jazz is fiery, electric and funky in the way that acid jazz was in the 1990s. Although he has played in various bands since the mid-2000s, he came to prominence in 2016 as a member of the jazz-funk duo Yussef Kamaal with drummer Yussef Dayes. The duo received praise for their 2016 album Black Focus. Williams then embarked on a solo career, releasing his similarly cross-pollinated 2018 debut album, The Return. Kamaal Williams now embodies the youth, success and power of the new generation of jazz made in England, The Sound of London!
