Iiro Rantala Trio feat. Dieter Ilg & Morten Lund

Finnish piano genius Iiro Rantala returns to his roots after a decade and a half. Since his legendary group Trio Töykeät disbanded in 2008, Iiro Rantala has returned to the piano-trio format.

He is accompanied by two improvisers and genius partners: the celebrated German bassist Dieter Ilg and the Danish drummer Morten Lund. So far, he has not revealed the exact destination of the musical journey with the HEL Trio. But those who know Rantala, the classically trained master pianist with a mischievous spirit, know that they can expect virtuosity with catchy, understandable melodies, electronic music without any sacred seriousness and plenty of surprising twists and turns. Entertaining, rousing performances somewhere between classical and jazz, fiery as hell (hence perhaps the trio's name!) and presented with plenty of humour are guaranteed.
