Gábor Gadó has been one of the great names in Hungarian jazz for decades, and has recorded over twenty albums. Laurent Blondiau is very active on the Belgian and European jazz scene, collaborating with numerous groups and artists:

Alongside their many collaborations over the years, ranging from large European groups to intimate duos, Laurent Blondiau and Gábor Gadó are joined here by Sarah Klenes for a repertoire composed entirely by Gábor on Hungarian poems.

The music is chamber music and, regardless of the elements borrowed from jazz, it is strongly imbued with the great European musical tradition, from early liturgical modal music to the innovations of the Darmstadt music revolution.

The music of contemporary Russian composers such as David Schnittke, Sofija Gubajdulina and Arvo Pärt, as well as Hungarian composers such as Bartôk, Ligeti and Kurtag, are also close to the trio.

In the trio's playing, the link between modal and vertical aspects serves as a springboard for improvisational inspiration.

As the critic Franck Bergerot of Jazzman/Jazz Magazine wrote of Gabor's music:

"His asceticism has taken him far in the knowledge of harmonic language, which he combines with admirable skill with the modal roots of Hungarian music developed at the frontiers of Eastern and Western cultures (...) Taking us from dissonance to a consonance that is all the more unexpected, he disorients us, breaks our habits, bewitches us and takes our breath away".
