Astonishing! That's the word that best describes the work of the Rick Hollander Quartet.

Drummer Rick Hollander hails from Detroit, Michigan (The Motor City). Rick was born in 1956 and witnessed the musical and societal upheavals of the 1960s and 1970s. When Hollander takes the drum throne, you'll hear a musician with the empathy, strength and vision to lead.

Born in 1977 and originally from San Diego, California, Brian Levy lives in Boston, Massachusetts, where he is currently on staff at the New England Conservatory. Brian Levy combines brute force with sensitivity. A sensitive intelligence guides Levy in his musical choices.

Guitarist Paul Brändle, born in 1992 in Germany, is a relative newcomer to the world jazz scene. Paul holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Music and Visual Arts in Munich. While some choose to display a flashy theatrical guitar style, Paul seems content to gently draw the listener into his web; a carefully woven tapestry of sound. Paul Brändle enriches the band's identity with his acute sense of harmony and melody. Paul's consistency and rigour reflect his maturity.

Originally from Lecce, Italy, bassist Giampaolo Laurentaci is one of the driving forces behind the RHQ. Giampaolo studied at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen, Netherlands, and at the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, where he obtained a master's degree. He expresses his vast knowledge of the jazz tradition with a decisive pulse.

Rick Hollander envelops the sound of The RHQ with broad strokes and fine lines.

Whether on drums or fronting the steel drum, the full spectrum of Rick's timeless ideas flows like a fountain.

After spending three weeks in Japan, The RHQ will be touring Europe with their unique style and instrumentation. A compelling and rewarding experience is guaranteed. This is where old and new meet in a collection of the world's best-loved melodies. "Beauty Is The Standard!
