Norwegian artist Daniel Herskedal is an enigmatic master of sound, a creator of pure beauty of tone and sound. Rarely do you hear a musician with such depth and emotional intensity who, at the same time, explores the limits of his instrument with such marvellous virtuosity. The music makes you dream away, transports you to the Far North, breathes deeply and is full of life.

The influence of multiple genres is evident in the various songs, but it is mostly the space, the wit, the quality of the sound and its brilliant simplicity that are the most impressive. All of that, combined with the unique full and melodic timbres he manages to get out of a tuba, is guaranteed to blow you off your feet.

Vega Trails

The beautiful collaboration between bassist Milo Fitzpatrick (Portico Quartet) and saxophonist Jordan Smart (Mammal Hands) resulted in the insanely impressive album Tremors in the Static (Gondwana Records) in 2022. Somewhere in the playing field between jazz, classical and contemporary, they find their musical form, both warm and melancholic.
