Stage de Jazz en Gaume 2023

Stage de Jazz en Gaume 2023

A week of jazz initiation and improvement accessible in boarding and day schools in Virton, followed by concerts at the Gaume Jazz Festival 2023: from Sunday August 6 to Sunday August 13, 2023

As part of the Gaume Jazz Festival, the Jeunesses Musicales of Belgian Luxembourg offer a jazz course for amateur musicians (accessible from the age of 12 and without age limit) and particularly for those who attend music academies and conservatories, musical workshops and other places for learning and practicing music.

This week of training allows musicians a first approach to jazz or an improvement in its practice. All instruments will be accepted as long as you already master the game (minimum 4 years of practice), even unusual instruments! The course offers an introduction to jazz, not an introduction to the instrument!

Offered in boarding and day schools, this 2023 edition still gives pride of place to collective work, ensemble lessons and combos. And in particular through our EXPERIMENTAL COMBOS: one or more combos will follow a creative process of writing, composition, arrangements, creating from scratch the pieces at the end of the course. Depending on the direction that these particular combos will take, different teachers may intervene according to their respective skills. Possibility depending on the group to integrate slam, spoken word, dance, electronics...
