Composed of Jean Ryckewaert on saxophones, Georges Hermans on piano, Jean-Marie Fossoul on bass and Gérald Bernard on drums, this quartet was born in October 2019.
In its choice of repertoire, this ensemble wants to be open to a wide musical culture.
Encompassing some deeply revisited standards as well as current "jazzefied" themes, the objective is to offer the informed and uninformed public a program that challenges by its audacity while seducing by its accessibility.
The work of arrangement, orchestration and reharmonization takes full advantage of the creativity and complicity of the members of the quartet, musicians with a wide range of experience.
From the outset, one will notice this creativity and reappropriation of themes, essential rule of the quartet and engine of a dynamic approach of opening and discovery.
On the program: Miles Davis, Georges Gershwin, Herbie Hancock, Thad Jones, Stevie Wonder...
