Federico Milone "Deux Moi" quartet

Deux Moi was included by JAZZIT magazine among the 100 Greatest Albums of 2024 (link at the bottom of the page).

After his debut album produced by the historic Italian label Philology Records (Phil Woods, Chet Baker, Stefano Bollani, Francesco Cafiso, etc.), Federico Milone’s ensemble has become a group that regularly performs at numerous festivals and clubs across Italy, Europe, and beyond.

He has always been in search of an authentic sound based on the composition of original pieces that connect the roots of Southern Italy with Northern Europe, where he is based.

His second album, Deux Moi (Filibusta Records, 2024), is an introspective work that tells, through 11 tracks, a range of emotions, joys, sorrows, and life experiences seen from two different perspectives of the same person. This album explores the two personalities that coexist within the author, Federico, often in contrast with each other. This duality, reflecting a universal dynamic, helps define the complexity of human nature, always balancing between right and wrong, black and white, beauty and imperfection.

Thanks to Filibusta Records and the support of Nuovo IMAIE, a new recording project will be released in January 2027: the quartet’s new album with the same lineup, featuring the participation of Pasquale Di Lascio, a renowned percussionist and researcher specializing in traditional and folk music from Southern Italy.
