Rackham

Free satellite in the Jazz-Pop-Rock-Ethnoworldish Galaxy

For this project the saxophone player Toine Thys gathered a group of musicians particularly heterogeneous. A successful mix with Laurent Blondiau on trumpet, Benjamin Clement on guitar, Lionel Beuvens on drums, and François Verrue on bass.

Few bands manage to merge as many diverse influences to create such an accessible and particular music. Made of improvisations, sometimes mariachi-like, instrumental tracks and songs, a very rock energy, RACKHAM's music is a free satellite in the Jazz-Pop-Rock-Ethnoworldish galaxy. RACKHAM found inspiration in artists like Calexico, the Pixies, The Brian Blade Fellowship or Radiohead.

« JUANITA K », the first CD of the group, was recorded in 2006 for RAT records, and is distributed through AMG (Benelux). One and a half year after their start, « JUANITA K » is also the beginning of a new adventure for the band with two Belgian singers: Delphine Gardin (Monsoon) and Sacha Toorop (Zop Hopop).
