Yannick Peeters Trio

Double Bass player Yannick Peeters (GingerBlackGinger, Jakob Bro, Frank Vaganée, Chris Joris, Mark Feldman, Jim Black, Joshua Redman, Hank Roberts, Tim Berne) felt the need to create a new trio with Matthias De Waele (Anemic Cinema, Naos, Rapidman, Grand Picture Palace, Don Marsh V) on drums and Sam Comerford (Thunderblender, Hendrik Lasure’s Warm Bad, Aerie, Umbra, Insufficient Funs, ODIL, Yskan) on saxophone. Together, they strive for a refined interpretation of the saxophone trio by combining the rich jazz tradition with more contemporary adventures.

Only two melodies decide the harmonies, the drums give rhythmic support, each instrument takes the lead in its own way.

Exploration, tradition and modern sensibilities come together in a pure and authentic form of musical expression.
