Jazz is timeless, and also a music for all occasions, large or small. This is most certainly so when it comes to traditional jazz – New Orleans and Dixieland – with its pretty and recognisable melodies to please one and all. The Doctor Jazz Band brings this sparkling, swinging and very much alive music to your home, company, party or why not to your local town square!

For years they've played together now, these friends from the Pajottenland – a part of Flanders just west of Brussels, well known for its rolling landscapes and its delicious geuze and kriek beers. Over the years they have built up an impressive playlist that mixes traditional jazz classics with lesser known musical pearls from the first four decennia of the last century.

The rhythm section is formed by Willy De Strijcker on double bass and sousaphone, Marnix De Boom on drums and Mattias Hallin on banjo. Melodies and riffs are presented and improvised by Dirk Van Lierde on trumpet, Luc Van Nerom on sax and clarinet and Erik Uitdebroeck on trombone. Music, however, is not only melody and harmony, it is also passion and joy: funny and gripping tunes are sung by Mattias and Dirk.
