In a world suspended between ancient ruins and rusty neon cities, a brotherhood of musicians builds an impossible machine. Woven from time itself, they call it the TARAB Machine. This mystical artefact triggers a collective tide of ecstasy that engulfs everything around it wherever it goes, and it is said that whoever listens to its frequencies can, for a few minutes, shed the weight of their ego and rise into a trance of thousands of souls breathing within the same dream.
On this debut EP by TARAB Machine, each song represents a stage in an inner journey. The popular wisdom of Iraqi folklore is their starting point, and the powerful arrangements are their vehicle. Whilst it lifts us up, the potent mystical psychedelia grounds us in our bodies, back down to our feet, because the spiritual quest is no obstacle to a good dance.
