Suzette launches debut EP Midnight Voyage de la Nuit – an intimate journey through chanson, jazz, and bossa nova
In September 2025, Suzette will release her debut EP Midnight Voyage de la Nuit – a personal and atmospheric collection of songs where French chanson, swing jazz, and bossa nova blend effortlessly.
Behind Suzette is singer and songwriter Gudrun Roos. After several years of silence due to illness, she is returning to the stage with music that speaks from the heart.
“This EP is my first, cautious step into the world again,” she says. “Kept deliberately simple – pure and emotional. A reflection of who I am.”
The EP features one original composition and three unique reinterpretations of jazz standards and traditional songs. The lyrics are written in English, French, and Dutch – the three languages in which Suzette expresses herself best. Her sound is rooted in the 1950s, yet feels both modern and timeless.
She recorded the EP together with three talented musicians: Rein De Vos (accordion), Jakob Haghebaert (guitar), and Ruben Lamon (double bass). Together, they create a warm, organic sound full of subtlety, emotion, and simplicity.
Suzette draws her inspiration from life itself: from travel, encounters with other cultures, the beauty of silence, and the bittersweet moments that shape our existence.
