Engranaje is the result of the unique cross-pollination between the Galician singer, Belén Martín Míguez and pianist Bas Bulteel. During her three-year stay in Ostend, the two musicians met and soon a collaboration engendered. Bas Bulteel composed the music, the singer wrote the lyrics. Míguez's lyrics and Bulteel's compositions interlock like a beautifully tuned gear. The title of the CD is one of the connotations that refers to their performance. Engranaje means gear work.
