Jazz&mo' #34 - DUO
Jazz&mo’ #34 puts the spotlight on duos. They come in all shapes and sizes: from purely professional to family-based, from instrumental to vocal, from beginners to seasoned veterans, but they all have one thing in common: the knowledge that everything is more fun with two.
On the cover: pianists Seppe Gebruers and Erik Vermeulen look back on an album that seems to have little to do with this Jazz&mo’: Antiduo. Tomas and Helena Casella muse about Brazil. Behind the scenes at Flat Earth Society and Nest, Anniek Vanhee and Lobke Aelbrecht respectively keep everything running smoothly. Our editor-in-chief gives his personal top five iconic duo albums. The instrumental De Groote-Faes Duo will release a new album in early 2026. We spoke to the award-winning duo Idle Moments, winner of B-Jazz, and Ola Tunji, winner of Gent Jazz Talent. And the editorial team looks back on 2025.
And furthermore: Ief Stuyvaert gives us a glimpse into his record, book and drinks cabinet. Mirte and Marthe from Minla are young and wonderful. Carole Vanderlinden is the new cover artist. Maarten Weyler wants more duets with bass. Lieven Keymolen presents new jazz poetry. Leon Lhoëst takes a cinematic turn. We put the reviewers' top five in the spotlight. The four voices of Nelja release Emerald Forests. And via the first Jazzle, Jazz&mo's puzzle page, you can win tickets to the Brussels Jazz Festival.
