Wajdi Riahi Trio

Born in Tunis and trained in piano from a very young age, Wajdi Riahi discovered music as a universal language at an early age. After extensive studies, he settled in Brussels, where he developed a unique style at the crossroads of jazz, Mediterranean music, and the folk traditions that shaped him.
Around him formed the Wajdi Riahi Trio, featuring Basile Rahola on double bass and Pierre Hurty on drums. With Wajdi at the piano, they have forged a strong identity, blending finesse and energy, which they now bring to international stages. Together, they strike a rare balance: constant mutual listening, a deep friendship, and a musical rapport that give their trio a unique intensity. With three acclaimed albums already to their credit—Mhamdeya (2022), Essia (2023), and Zabonprés Sessions (live, 2025)—the group has established itself on European stages, offering refined and vibrant music, nourished by their diverse roots and shared energy. They will present a showcase at JazzAhead 2026.
