He also played in the quartet of vibraphone player Sadi.
He also played the flute and the vibraphone.
He was during many years a member of the BRT Jazzorkest, led by Etienne Verschueren, in which he mostly played the Fender Rhodes electric piano, synthesizers and the flute. He appeared several times at the Jazz Middelheim Festival, including with his own project.
During his stay in the BRT Jazzorkest, he also developed an intense activity as an arranger for the band, contributing many charts, ranging from straight ahead jazz to fusion and pop songs, and introducing charts written on music by Paul Simon, Deodato, etc...
When Etienne Verschueren had to quit for health reason, Bob Porter became the leader of the BRT Jazzorkest for a while.
In the seventies, under the title "Meeting You" (LP B. Sharp 1002, reissued on CD CDS103 in 1995), he recorded an album as a leader for the B. Sharp label, with some of the finest jazzmen from Belgium : Bert Joris, Richard Rousselet, Bruno Castellucci etc...
In the recent years, he continued to be very active as a composer and arranger, writing extensively for pop singers, theater shows, big bands, orchestras, strings (a.o. for Philip Catherine) etc...
