Babelouze - Gros Orchestre de Tuba Trombone
- Constituted : 09/09/2009
- Manager : Collectif du Lion
- Booker : Collectif du Lion
This large orchestra of tubas and trombones is a unique project. MICHEL MASSOT is the leader of this ensemble which brings together tuba players, trombonists and sousaphone players, as well as trumpet players, flautists and percussionists, both professional and amateur.
This joyful band plays compositions by Michel Massot that oscillate between jazz, world music, polka and other burlesque music difficult to describe, but always festive and colourful.
In 2010, Babelouze recorded its first album at the Théâtre de l'L; this recording follows Babelouze's participation in Un éléphant dans la Ville... de Liège in 2009. The trumpet player Laurent Blondiau is featured on two of the tracks.
In 2015, they released Pavane de l'âne fou, their second CD, also self-produced.
The history of Babelouze is closely linked to the brass ensemble class of the Académie d'Etterbeek - Jean Absil; if you are interested in the adventure, do not hesitate to contact the Académie.
