New Trio

The new trio performs its own compositions as well as pieces from the ‘American Songbook’.

Moritz Schippers began playing the piano at the age of six and went on to study arrangement and composition, as well as jazz piano, at the Maastricht Academy of Music. He has also taken classes and participated in workshops with Aaron Parks, Matt Mitchell, Franco D’Andrea, Gary Versace, Stefano Battaglia, Ed Partyka and many others. Since completing his studies, he has performed as a pianist and keyboardist with countless musicians and bands in the Aachen region. Various musical projects have taken him to stages across Germany, the Benelux countries, France, Italy and Poland. He also teaches arrangement and aural training at the Maastricht Academy of Music.

Stefan Kremer (*1957, Aachen) lives in Belgium. He studied drums with Dante Agostini at the École de Batterie de Paris and took courses at Berklee College of Music in Boston. By the age of 19, he was already playing with Chet Baker in Belgium and France; subsequently, whilst working as an engineer, he never ceased his musical activities and has always been a fixture on the transregional scene. He has notably played with Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, John Thomas, Markus Stockhausen, Tony Scott and Sheila Jordan.

Werner Lauscher (born 1962, Aachen) began his musical career playing classical guitar and studied at the Aachen Academy of Music under Tadashi Sasaki. At the same time, he played the electric bass from the age of 16. Later, he discovered the acoustic bass and embarked on a professional career with this instrument. He can be heard on recordings with Viktor Lazlo, Charlie Mariano, Joachim Kühn, Rocco Granata, Toots Thielemans, Reinhard May, Bob Mintzer, Helmut Lotti and many others.
