Décroissant’ is the name of the new album by Greg Houben’s trio. Greg has chosen an intimate lineup: a guitar, a double bass, and himself on trumpet and vocals. The three set off in search of a repertoire drawn from popular songs, in an act of reuse, preservation, and authenticity. Greg places us in a shared space—that of our collective unconscious. He draws on this common ground to reveal his singularity, from the depths of his soul, where the heart beats…
Greg: “I’m embarking on this new musical project with a desire for degrowth, for essentials, for simplicity. No new equipment! Music where the adage ‘less is more’ is present at every turn: fewer notes, but above all, less control… more letting go.”
As is often the case with Greg, Décroissant is also about joy, humour, and immediate pleasure.
