Ornella Noulet & Egon Wolfson - living room concert

Saxophonist Ornella Noulet and drummer Egon Wolfson build an intimate, hour-long musical dialogue with Summer Hour. Bebop, modal jazz and experimental soundscapes merge into a cinematic space full of tension, breath and poetry. Subtle percussion, spiritual saxophone lines and free improvisation form the core of this French-American duo – sometimes explosive, sometimes meditative, but always intensely personal.

Ornella and Egon met in Brussels in 2022 and immediately found a shared artistic sensibility. Their collaboration began with a tribute to Jackie McLean and grew into the band Ola Tunji, with which they won Gent Jazz Talent and impressed the jury of the Jazz Festival Avignon, among others.

Strongly inspired by the spiritual jazz of the late 1960s and early 1970s, and with deep respect for the legacy of John Coltrane and his contemporaries, both musicians seek their own path through improvisation and expression. They are deeply committed to freedom, sound exploration and the search for a shared breath.

In the summer of 2024, they recorded their debut album Summer Hour at Alhambra Studios in France: a compelling encounter between energy and stillness, where two voices unite in one open, pulsating universe.
