Ashiq Nargile is the only female ashiq (bard) in Georgia and belongs to the Azeri minority. Her singing is both ecstatic and deeply expressive, alternating with explosions of the virtuoso, ornamental saz. Georgia also inspires Belgian Dijf Sanders. He surprises in his album SUPRA with an enchanting mix of field recordings of traditional instruments, voices and synths.
