28IF is the latest studio album by Nanaue, released by Rattsburg Records in 2021. Recorded and mixed between Brussels, Genoa, Rome and Valencia, the record weaves jazz-tinged art-rock with cinematic textures, favouring narrative structures over conventional song forms.

“The duo are not afraid to mix things up. The opener ‘Summwhere’ starts like something from a 1920s dance hall before morphing into a more jazz-rock-orientated groove. ‘Sumac Said’ is a really lovely ballad and beautifully orchestrated. ‘Confident Boy’ a rather polite slice of soft funk, topped with Deferrari’s frenetic guitar solo.”

— David Randall, Get Ready to Rock (UK), April 2022

“The unorthodox format of the songs is noteworthy, never in a verse-chorus format, but based on poems set to music and a storytelling approach. In this sense, the calmer themes are reminiscent of the work of Chris de Burgh, while in the more rock-oriented ones, it is John Wetton and his projects that seem to provide the greatest inspiration. Regardless of the approach, 28IF is a grand album of refinement and melody.”
