The Legionnaires - "PaperCut Films": Life from Paper and Light – Experience It Live

During lockdown, theater director Nicole discovered Dorthe Goeden's paper artwork, leading to the creation of "PaperCut Films." This project transforms abstract paper remnants into surreal figures and fairy-tale scenes, animated via stop-motion using natural light. The "Legionnaires" series now serves as the starting point for a collaboration with Christian Klinkenberg.

In live performances, Klinkenberg's composition brings these films to life. At the Orgelpark in Amsterdam, the work was performed with church organ, violin, flute, and percussion. In Marseille and Stuttgart, it was presented by the "Neue Vokalsolisten". These unique dialogues between film and sound, notated as a graphic video score, offer an immersive experience.
