Jean-Marie Machado en trio / Como as Flores

Jean-Marie Machado en trio / Como as Flores

The Como As Flores project is devoted to the South – or rather, to the many “Souths”! There is Tangier, the birthplace of Jean-Marie Machado, whose father was Portuguese and mother Italian, while Claude Tchamitchian’s family has its roots in Armenia. And Ze Luis Nascimento comes from Brazil, more precisely from Salvador de Bahia…

Jean-Marie Machado’s piano playing is exceptional: inspired, romantic, intimate and velvety… Enough words: the best thing to do is simply come and hear this remarkable artist live and experience it for yourself!

As Jazz Magazine put it, going to a Jean-Marie Machado concert is like sitting down to a Christmas feast: everything is delicious, from the appetisers to dessert!

His compositions, often bearing evocative and exotic titles, are little gems, demonstrating that Jean-Marie is not only an outstanding pianist but also an excellent composer.

As for Claude Tchamitchian, we have already welcomed him to the club several times, notably with Naïssam Jallal and Andy Emler. His playing is wonderfully varied and his bow work is simply magical.

In short, an evening filled with emotion, elegance and musical refinement awaits!

A rock-solid line-up: Jean-Marie Machado – piano; Claude Tchamitchian – double bass; Ze Luis Nascimento – percussion.
