The story of A l’Aise begins in Lier, where five musicians found each other at the Performing Arts Academy, in the shadow of the Saint Gummarus Tower. What began as a shared love of music and jazz manouche has grown into a close-knit ensemble that clearly enjoys playing together.
With warm vocals, two guitars, a double bass, and a harmonica, they transport you to sultry Parisian evenings and swinging cafés. A l’Aise playfully explores the boundaries of gypsy jazz and weaves French chansons with swing and bossa nova. This creates a musical story that is simultaneously elegant, nostalgic, and lighthearted.
