Jeudi Jazz

The Athois jazz quartet, TKTS 4T, offers a very diverse repertoire, ranging from John Coltrane to John Lennon, not to mention a composition by Pink Floyd (Gilmour, Wright, Waters).

In terms of time travel, we journey from the 1950s to the 1970s via the 1960s. All performed in a classic jazz style, with the piano playing an important part in the soundtrack, supported here by drums and double bass. But the brass instruments are not to be outdone, with the flugelhorn and saxophone dominating certain covers. The rhythm section's work is precise and delicate, as if the cymbals and drums were being lightly tapped, not to mention the subtle playing on the double bass strings.

This warm ensemble manages to respect the moods, and more specifically the eras, through a performance that takes us back to decades past. This is an original and, above all, delicate way to discover lesser-known compositions.
