Sam Vloemans' Bord du Nord

The circle is complete, a new chapter begins.

In 2008, trumpeter Sam Vloemans presented the first version of Bord du Nord, inspired by a stay in Paris. Together with accordionist Gwen Cresens as the linchpin, it became an elegant combination of jazz, chanson, and cinematic influences. Now Vloemans presents new material and a brand-new line-up, with Gwen Cresens, pianist Dominique Vantomme, and bassist Lara Rosseel. A few years ago, she invited Vloemans to join her acclaimed quintet on the JazzLab tour. Together they play lively compositions with compelling melodies and improvisations that transport you to the City of Light.

Sam Vloemans makes musical journeys with his collective Cargo Mas, is active in music theater and film music, and has collaborated with the HERMESensemble, I Solisti del Vento, Bram Weijters, and Black Flower, among others. His broad background and the different perspectives of the group members result in an atmospheric mix of jazz, chanson, tango, klezmer, and classical music.
