We love to see how the Belgian jazz scene continues to develop, with new, young talents that provide fresh energy. Bodem, a striking new trio with saxophonist Adia Vanherentals, has recently attracted a lot of attention. They were named as one of Klara’s Twenty-Somethings, an honour awarded to the ten most promising young musicians of the moment aged between 20 and 29. Bodem’s distinctiveness lies in its melodious lines and fresh group dynamics. Saxophonist Adia Vanheerentals has previously connected with drummer Anke Verslype, recently a strikingly presence with her jazz group aki, and guitarist Willem Malfliet, who explores the boundaries between pop and jazz with projects such as WOOLVS. Together they comprise the perfect team to present Vanheerentals' rich and imaginative compositions to the audience. During this concert, Bodem introduces the successor to their acclaimed debut album Kleine Mars. A sound that heralds the future.
