Gregory Privat : « Yonn »

After five albums under his own name, Grégory Privat will present his latest album at the Baixu, entitled 'Yonn', which means 'One' in Creole. This is the first time that the pianist from Martinique has released a solo piano album. For this recording of 11 tracks recorded entirely in Cologne, Grégory Privat proposes an intimate music which takes its sources in the West Indian culture, the classical music and the Jazz. A contemplative journey that mixes the notes of the piano with the musician's voice, as 5 tracks are sung in the repertoire. Made up entirely of original compositions, this album, imagined and created during the period of confinement in 2020, will be under the theme of meditation and the return to oneself, like a confidence full of light, comfort and hope.
