Antoine Pierre presents his new quartet : “Fall Up”
More than five years after “Suspended,” the third album of his electrifying band URBEX, Antoine Pierre returns to jazz as a leader with a brand-new quartet — much to our delight! The quartet proposes an escapade into a landscape at the crossroads of the four elements: a glowing sunset, feet in the sea, hair in the wind, soft sand between the toes, and crystallized salt on the skin. The compositions resonate with the sunny music scene of Los Angeles, echoing the joyful and moving oddities of albums by Pino Palladino, Sam Wilkes, Genevieve Artadi, Blake Mills, or Louis Cole. With a little detour through Thelonious Monk’s living room, and a distant wink to Olivier Messiaen...
