Eve Beuvens – Lysis

Inspired by the humour and dreamlike character of the poems of Robert Frost and Edna Millay, Eve Beuvens took several of their texts as starting points for new compositions.

To interpret them, she needed a voice but also an instrumentation that opens new perspectives and deeply stimulates the imagination.

She immediately asked singer Lynn Cassiers and bassist Lennart Heyndels, both of whom use electronics in combination with vocals and instruments, to accompany her.

Lysis refers to the biological decomposition of a cell's membrane. It is also an illustration of their musical process: transcending borders and deconstructing preconceived ideas to patiently let the unexpected appear.
