DOMINIQUE A au TROCADÉRO le 11 mai 2025

Dominique A questions and reflects without ever leaving the poetic realm. He also explores our relationship with the animal world, deeply shaken during the lockdown:

“The animals arrived / more and more of them / Coming down from the hills / Grave and silent (...) Worried, they looked us straight in the eyes.” (Les animaux)

His evocative power remains as strong as ever.

Even more poignant and powerful, he challenges our very humanity—in every sense of the word—in the song of the same name:

“I held you in my arms / I saw you play in the garden / Comforted you time and again / Watched you run along the paths / All to come to this / Watching you march, hand raised / Shouting as if no one could hear / Slogans of inhumanity.”

Like a wave of vertigo, Dominique’s words now seem to be overtaken by history. Yet with this retrospective and pivotal double album, a new chapter in his story appears to be unfolding. And we can’t wait to hear what comes next.
