Gyuri Spies

Gyuri Spies is a composer, arranger, songwriter and sound engineer.
He is active in the pop and jazz fields as well as in film and tv music.

He co-wrote in 1987 for singer Liliane Saint-Pierre the song "Soldiers of Love", which represented Belgium in the Eurovision song contest.

He wrote many charts the jazz idiom, a.o. for the BRT Jazzorkest and many studio productions .

He is also an accomplished producer and sound engineer.

He works on a regular basis with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, for which he also wrote some arrangements (for silent movie projects, etc...) and of which he is the regular sound engineer for the concerts and sometimes in the recording studio.
He was one one of the 11 arrangers on the album "Changing Faces" (released in 2007), of singer David Linx with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra.

He also wrote music and arrangements for theater (the Nederlands Theater in Ghent a.o.), and for pop artists such as Won Ton Ton, etc...

He teaches pop Production at the Conservatory of Ghent.
