Gabriel Long (1999) is a French trumpeter/flugelhornist and composer. He created the group Terrain Vaag in 2026, in which he explores a hybrid music, between improvisation and jazz rock, with sound explorations, from acoustics to electronics.
He is a member of groups based in Brussels, such as This is the Omen, with which he received support from Brussels Jazz Alert 2024 and released his first EP in 2025. He regularly performs on the Belgian music scene, notably at festivals such as the Brosella Spring Festival 2025, the Theater Aan Zee Festival 2025 or contest like the Concours Circuit 2025 and the Brussels Jazz Vanguard 2026.
An EP by Terrain Vaag is in progress, as well as a multidisciplinary creation between dance and ambient music.
Born in Lyon (France) in 1999, he studied classical music and trumpet from childhood. He began to perform on stage in 2015 with various formations (reggae, funk, hip-hop.) He then moved to Brussels in 2021 to continue his studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, from which he graduated with a master’s degree after being trained by musicians such as Olivier Bodson, Thomas Mayade, Jeroen van Herzeele or Stéphane Galland.
