Jazz course BJO Summer School Big Band
The SUMMER SCHOOL programme dedicated to big band music, in collaboration with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra:
The Halewyn Foundation is continuing its unique and fruitful collaboration with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra to uphold the rich tradition of big band music. This unique programme offers musicians the opportunity to immerse themselves in this distinctive style of jazz, as you will spend a whole week honing your instrumental skills, taking part in both section rehearsals and full big band rehearsals. And on the closing night, there will be a final concert with the big band.
Through this targeted approach, we not only contribute to the continued presence of big band music in the contemporary musical landscape, but we also strengthen appreciation of the genre among both the general public and jazz enthusiasts.
Teachers:
- Trombone: Lode Mertens BJOSaxo
- phone, flute and clarinet: Dieter Limbourg BJO
- Double bass: Bart De Nolf BJO
- Saxophone: Kurt Van Herck BJO
- Drums: Toni Vitacolonna
At present, there are only places left for 1 trombone and 2 trumpets.
