The project was launched in Brussels in 2023. Artistic director Tristan Bernoud composes original pieces that have already been acclaimed at concerts in several Brussels venues, such as the Jazz Station and the Sounds Jazz Club. The group is the 2025 winner of the cross-border Propulsion programme, in the BANDS category.
Their influences are varied, ranging from John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk and Ornette Coleman to musicians from the current New York scene, such as the trumpeter and composer Ambrose Akinmusire, the saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins and the vibraphonist Joel Ross.
Their music promises to captivate listeners by taking them on a colourful journey, whilst the energy shared by the musicians on stage gets the audience moving.
The quintet recorded ‘For Whom Echoes Raise’, a studio album released in June 2025. Thanks to the Propulsion programme, a five-track EP was recorded at the legendary Studio Pyramide in Brussels. ‘Heart Request PT. I’, the first part of a double EP, is currently being mixed and is due for release in January 2026.
