We want Miles

We Want Miles is much more than a tribute: it is a vibrant, contemporary declaration of love for the spirit of Miles Davis. A natural follow-up to the first tribute, *Kind of Blue* (on tour since 2015), this project carries forward the spirit of freedom, daring and constant reinvention that has always driven the master.

With We Want Miles, the band does not seek to freeze an era in time, but to bring its energy to life today. The compositions and reinterpretations draw inspiration from the many facets of Miles — from modal lyricism to searing electricity — to create a vibrant, open and resolutely contemporary jazz.

For this new phase, the project reinvents itself with a powerful and close-knit new line-up: Guillaume Vierset (Typh Barrow, Sharko) on guitar, Fil Caporali on bass (Brésil), Bilou Doneux on drums (Zap Mama, etc.), Pierre Malempré on trumpet (Papayazz, Marka), Thomas Champagne on alto saxophone and Michel Mainil on tenor saxophone (Jazz, jazz and jazz!). Six strong personalities, united by the same desire: to create a dialogue between heritage and creation, groove and risk-taking, composition and improvisation.

On stage, We Want Miles offers an intense and organic experience, a journey where the spirit of Miles hovers without ever confining the music. A fiery, free-spirited and deeply contemporary concert — true to this simple yet essential idea: music must always move forward.
