Werkplaats Walter joins in celebrating Belgian Music Week, because music from here is something we want to support and cherish. Not two, but three bands were selected from 80 submissions. They will get to work in Walter’s brand-new studio and also perform for a live audience. And honestly? One week is far too short for Belgian improv: our third band takes the stage on 14 May.
One raw live recording was enough to win Walter over. Sylvain Debaisieux turns the tradition of the saxophone trio inside out and uses Belgian Music Week to put his latest project on the map.
The second concert in the context of Belgian Music Week — Barbastelle “Cielo Vivo” — takes place on 8 February. The third band — Laurence Cousseau Quintet — performs on 14 May.
