Young Talents: Carte Blanche – Maël’s Smiles

Jazz Station invites Maël Idris Mercier, a young Brussels-based pianist, for a carte blanche centred on meeting, exchange and shared music-making. An emerging artist already firmly rooted in the European scene, he has completed a bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the JazzCampus Basel. He is also a laureate of competitions such as the Dinant Jazz Contest – Young Talents and the DownBeat Student Music Award.

For this concert, he has chosen to surround himself with a strong, local and intergenerational trio. Together, the four musicians will present a lively and accessible music, built around original compositions, attentive listening and musical dialogue.

These Young Talents evenings are an opportunity to discover new artists, support the local scene and enjoy a welcoming musical moment, open to everyone — whether you are a jazz lover or simply curious.
