Natashia Kelly (vocals) and Nicola Andreoli (piano)
Inspired by Joni Mitchell, Arooj Aftab, Paul Simon, Sting, Christian Wallumrød, Django Bates, and artistic currents rooted in songwriting and contemporary jazz, Natashia Kelly’s compositions are grounded in traditions that sometimes date back centuries, while looking firmly toward the future.
For the singer-songwriter, music is a shared language. Her dialogue with Nicola Andrioli is enriched by the pianist’s exceptional listening skills. The result is a unique alchemy, a highly personal sound, and a singular musical voice.
What matters most in a piano-vocal duo? The piano or the voice? Both, of course—especially when they blend so seamlessly. And especially when Natashia Kelly’s voice meets Nicola Andrioli’s keyboard.
This synergy became evident during the recording, in quintet format, of the singer’s latest album. Natashia and Nicola drew from it a unique alchemy, a deeply personal sound, and a distinctive musical discourse.
Together, they take us beyond jazz, guiding us through melodies that are sometimes stripped down, sometimes more spirited—wandering into folk with Celtic accents and inspired pop ballads.
Natashia’s slightly grainy voice, almost restrained yet full of sensitivity, pairs perfectly with the pianist’s inventive playing. The duo tells stories of life, offering reflections on our emotions and behaviors—those we don’t always manage to control, and which allow emotion to take over.
They say two are stronger than one. The proof is on stage.
